Lorna Gibson is a free-lance Architect + planner based in Amsterdam. Her project work spans from product development and house renovations to cultural programming and urban investigations. An eclectic portfolio has enabled her to develop comprehensive theoretical and technical skills within the Architectural field that crossover into landscape architecture and product design.
Lorna is particularly interested in architectures relationship with nature and influence upon civic well-being. More than layering bricks, layering also the founding principles of public and social exchange. She believes that cities thrive through the creation of wholesome spaces that have a positive impact on the quality of life people lead.
Brought up in Scotland, Lorna went on to graduate with a RIBA Part 1 and 2 in Architecture and Planning from the University of Edinburgh. In 2011 she began her professional career in the Netherlands. Collaborations and contributions include working with the Rijksbouwmeester in Amsterdam, Stadt Pforzheim, as Architectural Advisor to Streetlife and their uk projects, Partizan Publik, XML Architecture Research Urbanism, NAI Rotterdam Biennale, Mediamatic in Amsterdam, MARK magazine in Amsterdam and Wallpaper* magazine in London.
