Lorna Gibson BSc(Hons) Architecture, DipArch, RIBA & Architectenregister (NL)
Lorna studied Architecture at the Unitersity of Edinburgh in Scotland. She gained extensive experience in cultural buildings and historical renovations working at van Dongen-Koschuch Architects & Planning prior to starting LG Architecture & Planning. The firms primary focus and interest is in residential design and renovation.
Her eclectic portfolio has enabled the development of comprehensive theoretical and technical skills within the Architectural field that crossover into landscape architecture and product design. In 2018 she was awarded a grant from Stimuliering Funds, together with Pinar Balat, to study the role of narrative and function in the architectural design of ‘home’. It will reflect on existing knowledge within art and architecture, exposing new tools for how we can design better homes and subsequently improve the well-being of individuals and communities in tomorrow's European cities.
Past collaborations and contributions include working with the Rijksbouwmeester in Amsterdam, Stadt Pforzheim, as Architectural Advisor to Streetlife and their uk projects, Partizan Publik, XML Architecture Research Urbanism, NAI Rotterdam Biennale, Mediamatic in Amsterdam, MARK magazine in Amsterdam and Wallpaper* magazine in London.
